Workforce is at the core of Connecticut's quantum economy
Connecticut’s commitment to workforce development serves as a key differentiator in the global technological landscape.
Our approach is anchored in the belief that nurturing a skilled and diverse talent pool is essential for unlocking the full potential of quantum technologies. Home to 38 colleges and universities, Connecticut produces a steady stream of highly skilled graduates and boasts one of the nation’s most educated and dynamic workforces.
QuantumCT’s partners reach all corners of the state, enabling QuantumCT to engage communities across the opportunity spectrum, so that we develop the most accessible, equitable, aligned and high-quality workforce pipeline in the country.
Preparing students for the quantum leap
Online courses and certificate programs will allow for seamless upskilling to new jobs that depend on quantum knowledge, and work exchange programs will provide real-world experiential learning. Students enrolled in Connectiut's colleges and universities, including community colleges, will have access to transition courses, pathway programs and industry internships for a smooth progression to quantum careers. Meanwhile, the future workforce will be taught quantum concepts and skills starting as early as elementary school.
With the support of public and private sector partners, Connecticut offers custom workforce solutions through the Governor’s Workforce Council, ensuring our workforce remains agile through curricula and programming that is responsive to the needs of a 21st century economy.
