The Quantum UP! Challenge will be held as a series of educational events and will offer participating students with a foundational understanding of quantum technologies and their applications. Using both this new knowledge, and their previous training and backgrounds in the areas of business, law, and social sciences, participants will be challenged to analyze opportunities and provide recommendations about the best way to leverage quantum technologies for Connecticut’s future.
Quantum Disruption invites future business leaders to forecast and develop strategies for applications of quantum technologies within insurance. Are there any synergies with other 'near-term' technologies such as AI and cloud strategies, and how do organizations prepare internally for potential investment in these areas?
Quantum Lockdown invites future leaders to analyze the ways in which cybersecurity tools and practices will have to evolve in order to keep information secure against hacking attempts powered by quantum computers.
Quantum Power challenges students to contemplate the energy demands, and associated carbon footprint of quantum computing. What are the best ways to prioritize and optimize efficiency and sustainability in the design and deployment of quantum computers?
Quantum Vision asks students to map the opportunities to utilize quantum technologies to enhance medical imaging and diagnostics. Are quantum technologies ready to meet the demands for precision, reliability, and security required by healthcare providers?
Quantum Ethics invites future leaders to imagine the ethical and legal guardrails needed to ensure that quantum computing is deployed in a responsible manner—taking into account issues such as the liability of its users, and the potential impact of quantum computing on governance, civil rights and data privacy.
The Department of Quantum Resources challenges students to develop a strategic framework for government oversight and regulation of quantum technologies.
