QuantumCT Launches Community Impact Pilot Program to Strengthen Partnerships with Local Organizations
Grant funding will support local organizations leading education, outreach, and training initiatives in quantum innovation
QuantumCT, a public-private partnership accelerating the adoption of quantum technologies in Connecticut and beyond, is proud to announce the launch of the QuantumCT Community Impact Pilot Program. Made possible by investments from the Department of Economic and Community Development and the Connecticut Office of Innovation, this initiative aims to establish and strengthen new partnerships with community organizations in support of QuantumCT’s community engagement, education, and workforce development goals.
QuantumCT will award up to six grants—three in each of two categories—ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 per award. Funding will support projects that can be completed within one year and contribute to one or more of QuantumCT’s core goals: growing public awareness of quantum technologies and building a future-ready workforce.
“Quantum technologies will transform industries — from healthcare and logistics to energy and finance — but the impact must start at the local level,” said Albert Green, QuantumCT’s President and CEO. “Through this pilot program, we are investing in the communities and organizations who are laying the groundwork for broad public awareness and preparing people across Connecticut to take part in the opportunities emerging from quantum innovation.”
Now Open: Two Grant Categories
Quantum Public Awareness & Outreach Award: This category invites proposals from Connecticut-based nonprofits, educational institutions, and civic organizations that will support projects to amplify public understanding of quantum technologies and their impact on local economies and everyday life. Programs could include public education campaigns, interactive exhibits, or outreach initiatives that simplify and communicate quantum concepts to the general public.
Quantum Workforce Innovation Award: This category invites proposals from Connecticut-based workforce development boards, technical training institutions, and educational nonprofit organizations that will support projects to upskill individuals in quantum technologies and related fields. Applicants must propose training programs or internships that prepare workers for jobs in quantum, aligning with industry needs and future job markets in next-generation technologies.
The initiative underscores QuantumCT’s strategic commitment to fostering an innovation economy in which all communities are positioned to participate in and benefit from the advancement of quantum technologies. Based on outcomes and community response, QuantumCT intends to expand the program in future funding cycles.
